All of our practitioners at The Villlage Pre-School are qualified to Level 3 and hold current qualifications in Paediatric & Emergency First Aid, Food Safety & Hygiene, and Manual Handling. Each staff member also takes on a particular area as the ‘nominated person’.
Manager Mary joined Pre-School in 2008. She is also the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENDCo). She has an NVQ Level 3 and additional professional development in the following areas: EYFS ‘Cracking the Code’, SENDCo role establishment and implementation of new code of practice, Understanding Makaton, Working with Autism, Safeguarding Children, Equality & Diversity, and Working in Partnership with Parents. Mary is also our Business and Finance Manager and co-ordanates this with the Committee.
Deputy Natasha (‘Tasha’) has worked with children since 2001 and received her NVQ3 qualification in 2004. Tasha came to work at the Pre-School in 2011 and is the nominated person for Inclusion & Equal Opportunities. She has continued her professional development with courses on Safeguarding Children, Outdoor Provisions, and Inclusion, Natasha has recently completed SEND training to become our senco. Natasha is a mum who has 2 children and enjoys family walks with the dog and being crafty and creating things.
Pre-School Practitioner Dorothy has worked with children since 2004 and received her NVQ3 qualification in 2014. She has worked at the Pre-School since March 2012 and has moved on to other aspects of childcare returning to work with us again in March this year .Dorothy is a mum with 3 children and lives locally to the preschool. Dorothy has completed all her safeguarding training and first aid with flying colours.
Pre-School Practitioner Melissa is an apprentice who is well into to her apprentiship, she is training for a level 3 childcare qualification. Melissa is a mature student who has 3 children of her own and has completed her first Aid and safeguarding training with flying colours.
