All of our practitioners at The Villlage Pre-School are qualified to Level 3 and hold current qualifications in Paediatric & Emergency First Aid, Food Safety & Hygiene, and Manual Handling. Each staff member also takes on a particular area as the ‘nominated person’.
Pre-School Manager Melanie has been with the Pre-School since 2008. She has worked with children since 1995 and completed her NNEB qualification in 1996. Prior to working at The Village Pre-School she was the Deputy Manager of a private day nursery and head of the pre-school room. Mel is the Early Lead Language Practitioner and has undertaking training in Advanced Safeguarding and Risk Assessment. She lives with her husband and 2 children. Outside of Pre-school, Mel enjoys reading and being outdoors, and is also Assistant Group Scout Leader for the 9th Warrington East Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.
Deputy Manager Mary joined Pre-School in 2008. She is also the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENDCo). She has an NVQ Level 3 and additional professional development in the following areas: EYFS ‘Cracking the Code’, SENDCo role establishment and implementation of new code of practice, Understanding Makaton, Working with Autism, Safeguarding Children, Equality & Diversity, and Working in Partnership with Parents.
Pre-School Practitioner Natasha (‘Tasha’) has worked with children since 2001 and received her NVQ3 qualification in 2004. She previously worked as Deputy for a local day nursery but stepped down to spend more time with her own children. Tasha came to work at the Pre-School in 2011 and is the nominated person for Inclusion & Equal Opportunities. She has continued her professional development with courses on Safeguarding Children, Outdoor Provisions, and Inclusion. She lives with her fiancé and two children and enjoys family walks with the dog and being crafty and creating things.
Pre-School Practitioner Michelle has worked with children since 2004 and received her NVQ3 qualification in 2014. She has worked at the Pre-School since March 2012 and has undergone additional training in Outdoor Play and Safeguarding Children. She has three children.
